Oldham Ath v Charlton Ath Preview
Oldham Ath v Charlton Ath Preview

Oldham frustrated their hosts when they visited The Valley in December, taking a point back to Lancashire.

Chris Powell will be looking for victory at Boundary Park on Saturday. Paul Dickov’s team had a long midweek trip to Brentford and returned empty handed. The Latics have been in indifferent form at home recently, one win, one draw and three defeats is how they have fared record in their last five games at Boundary Park.

Scoring has been a real problem for Oldham, they have netted just four times in this clutch of games, scoring once on four occasions and drawing a blank in the other game. Powell will be confident his team can keep a clean sheet.

Johnnie Jackson and Danny Haynes have been back in training for a week but could be held back until the Walsall game on Monday. If Powell does go with that option, he is likely to name an unchanged team. Charlton could look like this:

Hamer; Solly, Cort, Morrison, Wiggins; Wagstaff, Stephens, Hollands, Cook; Kermorgant, Wright-Phillips.

Subs: Sullivan, Taylor, Green, Pritchard, N’Guessan.

The referee will be Trevor Kettle from Rutland.

Like Orient last week, Oldham are perfect opponents for the Addicks and Chris Powell will be expecting to take three points from the game.
